Photos from how you use your Psion II

Post by NickKostelidis »

These photos are from yesterday at work (6 April 2021).
This instrument has a collecting data app onboard but I prefer to work with my Psion II apps.

Photos from how you use your Psion II

Looks good Νίκος...

Very neat idea mounting it to the leg of the tripod. (and the tape measure). That Guy in the Orange Visi Vest - is he your 'staff man'?

Does the Comms Link take power from the total station or the Organiser?

Keep up the good work
Martin

Hi Martin.
Yes this guy in the Orange Visi Vest is my colleague.
Comms link takes power from the organizer.
I can work for seven to ten days with one battery (7-8 hours of work per day).
When I download data from the organizer to PC I use a comms link connected to a power supply.
Nikos.

Hi,
So when the organiser is attached to the instrument it is collecting data over the comms link? That is then stored in the organiser and at some later time you send that data to a PC?
When attached to the instrument the unit is battery powered?

regards
Andrew

Hello Andrew.
The organizer takes power from the 9v battery, not from the instument.
I collect data from the instument and at the same time I store them in ram pack.
I could store them to a data pack or to a flash data pack but this way is not quick.
Best regards.
Nick.

Bluetooth communication between surveying instruments and data recorders. This is what I want to do with Psion II organiser too.
