Re: Top slot hardware idea

Just an update about the conversion of a paged 32k datapak to a linear addressed one. There's a zero ohm link that needs to be moved for this (circled with red dotted line), I removed it and replaced it with a wire at the other side. See photo below (the paged pack is a different one, as I didn't ta...

Re: Beep formula in manual incorrect??? (Solved)

Just in case people haven't noticed, the figure 921600 is the CPU clock rate, which is set from an external quartz crystal at 3.6864 MHz. The Quartz crystal frequency is divided by 4 in the CPU to get to 921600 Hz. The CPU clock rate gets further divided by 96 to provide the 9600 maximum baud rate f...

Re: Beep formula in manual incorrect??? (Solved)

With a bit of algebra you can rearrange for y:
y% = (460800/x) - 39
Where x is the frequency in Hz

Re: Record the time taken to do a task!

I've used "work" by Geoffrey Miller, to log time taken on tasks, see attachment.

Re: OPL programming noob questions

Daren,
Have you considered the Formulator for this sort of thing?
https://www.jaapsch.net/psion/manform2.htm
It's not as flexible as an OPL program, but might do some of what you want?

Re: Nice programming work flow

The model 100 does have a great keyboard, it's only weak point is the spacebar, which is slightly broken on mine, but still works ok. You should be able to capture or receive files to a notes file, or do you have the older CommsLink rom? Is your CommsLink 2 line or 4 line? Either way, some software ...

Re: Nice programming work flow

I also have a TRS80 model 100, so I might give that a go, but why would I use a qwerty keyboard when the Organiser has a 6x6 alpha matrix that I can hold in my hand? Maybe I'll do this the other way around and use the Organiser to type on the model 100? :D The model 100 is nice machine, though, and ...

Re: Serial SD data storage?

This looks interesting, there are cheaper SD card boards, but they generally need an Arduino or similar to control them, this integrates that into one small board with what looks like quite useful firmware.

Re: Top slot hardware idea

I was trying to keep this board as simple as possible, and was imagining that level shifters could go on a board that plugs into this one. The issue with power is just that there are options to choose from: taking power from Vb, using an external battery etc. For this reason I took: Vb, the slot Vcc...
