Re: Benchmark

And my emulator running on a RP Pico gives a not very exciting:

50 seconds and index of 6.8.

It might be possible to overclock the Pico though...
and if they bring out a faster version...

Re: Sub-second timer?

The real time clock/calendar of the organiser uses 1Hz signals to update so sub second timing isn't possible with that. There are free running timers in the 6303 as the technical manual states: 5.5.2 TIMER 1 COMPARE INTERRUPT The timer 1 compare interrupt is used to scan the keyboard to allow keyboa...

i assume this is the Jape emulator we are talking about?

Re: Organiser II with Apple products

Looking at this thread I must have subconsciously moved the 'II' as I thought it would be about the Organiser with the Apple II.

Re: Bluetooth/Wifi Comms Link Project Repository

I thought I'd better say that the stuff in the repository is very much prototype. I haven't built it or tested the circuit in any way yet. Indeed, while eating breakfast this morning I realised there was a problem with the power circuit. Fortunately I have come up with a cunning plan, but it does re...

Re: Most Powerful OPL Machine?

Jaap's Jape is excellent, and a really polished bit of code. I used it when I created the emulator for the re-creation and it was useful. So there is another emulator that is written in C and will probably run anywhere, but the latest and greatest version runs on a raspberry Pi Pico on the re-creati...

Bluetooth/Wifi Comms Link Project Repository

I have just made a GitHub repository public. It is a prototype PCB for a Bluetooth Comms Link. It uses bits of other projects I have worked on recently. The idea is that it uses a Raspberry Pi Pico which sits on the top slot signals and emulates a ROM (the comms link code). The Pico also handles the...

Re: Most Powerful OPL Machine?

Do you mean powerful as in fast? If so then I'd have thought an emulator running on a powerful desktop would be pretty fast, but not very portable.

Re: Backlit Keyboard

One thing that may help is to fill any unused volumes of the case parts with plastic. If you print a case that is identical to a mass produced injection moulded case you tend to have the thinnest plastic that the designer can get away with in order to reduce the cost of materials. If the model can b...
